David was born in Philadelphia to his mother, Genevieve, and father, David, and along with his sister, Genevieve, and his brother, Richard, the five Kissick’s were blessed in many ways.

Education, hard work and Philadelphia sports were always front and center. To this day, David still follows all the Philly teams and he can frequently be found golfing in South Jersey with his high schools friends.

David enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and, after his tour in Vietnam in 1968, he decided that his career path had to be education. He was 25 years old when he was in Vietnam, while the majority of his fellow Marines were but 18 or 19. With a strong desire to continue his connection with youth, David earned his teaching certificate at La Salle University.

In addition he earned his masters in education from Russell Sage College and also his masters in educational administration at Saint Rose College.

In June of 1969, while spending the summer in Wildwood, NJ, David was fortunate to meet a young lady who had just graduated from Russell Sage College. He immediately realized that he had met the woman of his dreams. He and Janice were married in 1973 and a few years later they were blessed to have a most wonderful son, Adam. Years later, Adam was just as fortunate as his father to meet a wonderful and charming young lady from Alabama. After Adam and Christy graduated from college, they were married and are now the very proud parents of Iris, our ballerina granddaughter, and Lucas, a grandson for the ages.

David’s journey in education began in1971 at La Salle Institute where he taught English, History and coached Cross-Country and Track. In 1985, he became an administrator at Lansingburgh High School, serving as Principal through 2005. Along the way, David managed to teach Accounting at Hudson Valley Community College and serve as an Interim Principal at Mechanicville High School.

Although fully retired, David continues to work with young students. He became a student/teacher supervisor for Oneonta University for six years. When Don Fane reached out some years ago, asking David if he would be interested in serving on the Board at the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club, there was no hesitation….the answer was “absolutely.”

Needless to say, David feels blessed in so many ways. He has a loving, caring and supportive family. And he truly treasures the countless number of teachers, fellow administrators, friends and, especially former students that he has met along his journey. He feels he truly has been blessed!

Born in Troy, New York, and raised in Lansingburgh, Ralph Cioffi is a true product of the Capital Region community he has always been proud to call home.

Ralph graduated from Lansingburgh High School and went on to attend Hudson Valley Community College, where he earned his degree in Electrical Construction. In 1983, he began his career with LaCorte Companies. Through his dedication and hard work, Ralph quickly advanced to Vice President in 1985, a position he held until 2008.

In 2008, Ralph began a new chapter in his career with CD Perry while, at the same time, taking a leap of faith with his wife, Peggy, and founding DLC Electric. What began as a new business venture has grown into one of the largest electrical contractors in Upstate New York. Ralph’s success is a testament to his work ethic, determination, leadership, and willingness to invest in the people around him.

But for Ralph, success has never been measured solely by business accomplishments. His greatest source of pride is his family and his commitment to his community.

Ralph and his wife, Peggy, have shared 37 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children—Alexandra, Dominick, Francesca, and Louis—and today they are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.

Ralph’s journey from Lansingburgh to becoming a successful entrepreneur and community leader is a story about opportunity, perseverance, and giving back. He understands the importance of having people in your life who believe in you, encourage you, and give you the opportunity to succeed.

That is why being recognized by the Boys & Girls Club holds such special meaning. The Club represents many of the same values Ralph has carried throughout his life: hard work, character, education, family, mentorship, and giving young people the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Ralph is proud of where he came from, grateful for what he has been able to accomplish, and even more grateful for the family, friends, employees, and community that have shared the journey with him.

His story is not simply about building a successful company. It is about building a family, building relationships, building opportunities—and leaving a positive impact on the community he has called home for a lifetime.
